ECM Festival in San Francisco
The ECM Festival in San Francisco, presented in the context of the SF Jazz series, spotlights some of the newer tendencies among ECM’s musical directions, and also includes performances by artists long associated with the label. The festival began last night, March 26, at San Francisco’s Miner Auditorium, with a performance by Chris Potter’s Underground Orchestra. Tonight (March 27) it’s the turn of the Vijay Iyer Trio, followed by Egberto Gismonti solo (March 28) and Tomasz Stanko’s New York Quartet, with David Virelles, Reuben Rogers and Gerald Cleaver (March 29).
